Till Guest Singing on Apocalyptica Album

According to apocalyptica-club.net, Till will be providing vocals on the track Helden (Heroes - originally performed by David Bowie) on Apocalyptica's upcoming album World's Collide due to be released on September 14th (for European countries with Friday releases) and on September 17th (for European countries with Monday releases). I did not see any mention of a North American release, but if there is one, it would likely be September 18th.

From a pre-listening that apocalyptica-club.net had, this is what they had to say about Helden:

Rammstein's Till Lindemann is also represented here with the covertrack "Helden", which will be the only German text on "Worlds Collide". When Till sings "Doch können wir siegen für immer und immer und sind dann Helden für einen Tag." he leads the listener through depths and hights as only Rammstein and Apocalytica together can do it.

The German line very roughly translates to "We can triumph forever and ever and then be heroes for one day."Thanks to Linkszwo and flammenstrahl for the news

Tips for Spotting Hoaxes/Fakes

In light of recent events, I decided to post some tips on how to spot hoaxes and fakes concerning Rammstein. These tips have also been added to the FAQ section for easy reference. There are some fans out there with nothing better to do with their time, so they have to waste ours with their stupidity. And usually, they are very, very stupid when they try to trick us. To spot these, you have to use your knowledge of the band and some simple logic.

Do you think a band member is contacting you? They probably are not.

  • Think about it, why would one of the guys contact YOU out of all people. There are millions of Rammstein fans. I'm sure you're special in your own little way, but you're not THAT special to be picked out of millions of fans. Besides, other than concerts, the band does not have much, if any, contact with their fans.
  • Can the supposed band member even speak German? I don't mean Rammstein German or basic German, I mean fully fluent German? I've had people contact me pretending to be Till that couldn't speak a word of German.
  • Does the timezone match up with what they're saying. If you live in California and it's 11pm and the person tells you that he's going to sleep now, it's really 6-7am in Germany. Chances are, he wouldn't be going to sleep that late - these are grown men with families.
  • Did they tell you something very personal, something that you can't verify? Why would he tell a stranger something so personal? Is he only telling you things that everyone already knows from public interviews? If he can't give you any new info that is verifiable, he's not real.
  • He probably has a digital camera (most people do nowadays), ask him to send you a picture of himself holding a piece of paper with your name on it.

Fake MySpace profiles There are many MySpace profiles for the band and for individual band members. NONE of them are official.

  • Any official ones would likely be linked to on rammstein.com
  • Are all of the pictures on their site promotional pictures or live concert pictures? Are any of them original that were not accessible on the internet previously?
  • It takes 2 minutes for anyone to set up a MySpace page, put up some pictures, and add some false information.

Fake News The recent fake news story that came out about Till leaving the band was actually a very "good" lie. The person that sent the email faked their email address to look like it was an official email address. They did it while the owner of herzeleid.com was on vacation and his forums were down (they are finally back up now). They used the manager's name and company. The language of the "statement" from the manager was in very bad English, like rammstein.com. They knew that En Esch, the singer supposedly replacing Till, recently moved back to Berlin. MANY music news sites picked up this news and also posted it. All of these things separately are no big deal, but having them all combined together made the hoax almost convincing. However, there were still little things to pick up on that could tell you it was a hoax.

  • The statement from the manager seemed to only appear in English and was translated into German. Any statement from a German band would have first been in German and then translated to English.
  • Part of the statement read "the industrial gothic top act RAMMSTEIN." I don't believe their manager would refer to the band like that.
  • Also, the band has previously said that if a member of the band were to leave, that would be the end of Rammstein. This was said years ago and things can change over time, however, we're talking about a lead singer, the face of the band leaving. That person is incredibly difficult, although not impossible, to replace.
  • The statement also said that maybe Till will go on to form a new project. Till is getting old and he does not seem like the type to want to start over with a new band. Once Rammstein is done, I think it is very likely that his musical career is done, too.
  • The statement also said that the new album is almost finished, but they just recently started. We all know that Rammstein takes a very long time to work on their albums.
  • I do believe that something this serious for the band would be announced on their website, their record label's website, or on their management's website the day that the statement is issued.
  • Consider the source of the news: Blabbermouth, which has been right on many occassions, also has been wrong on other occassions. Hearing news from a friend, especially one that knows very little about Rammstein except that you like them, is not going to hear big news before you. Ask them where they heard it and if they can't give you a legit source, then it's probably not true.
  • This isn't the first time that someone started a rumor about the band breaking up (and probably won't be the last time). Don't be one of those gullible people that falls for all of these hoaxes.

Till NOT Leaving Rammstein

Like usual, the rammstein.com website has NOT been updated, this time to address a rumor that was running very, very strongly on many music news sites, including motor.de. However, it appears that management did issue a press release to some of these news sites to let them know that it is fake, Till is NOT leaving the band and En Esch is NOT going to be joining the band (also confirmed on En Esch's Slick Idiot website). It would have taken them only a couple of minutes to update their site early this morning when they probably really realized that there was a problem.... Anyway, I hope BlabberMouth and whoever else may have gotten the hoax email kept it and perhaps an IP address can be obtained for the pathetic moron that wrote the email.

Till Leaving Rammstein?

There is a rumor on many internet music news sites that Till will be leaving Rammstein after work on the new album is completed and he will be replaced by En Esch (from KMFDM and Slick Idiot). One of the sites to post this, BlabberMouth.net, no longer has the article up. I believe the rumor is most likely false. Once I hear anything else, I'll post it as soon as possible.

Upcoming Richard Interview

According to Blabbermouth.net, Richard will be interviewed by Bruce Dickinson, the lead singer of Iron Maiden, on July 27th during the "Bruce Dickinson Friday Rock Show." The show will be on from 10:00pm until 1:00am GMT (6:00pm-9pm EDT) and can be heard online here. If you miss the show, it looks like they do archive their interviews.
